The rolling hills and thoroughbred horse farms of Kentucky, coupled with the historical attractions and cultural activities of this state, make it an ideal destination for travelers and an excellent place to look at real estate and homes for sale. The Muhammad Ali Center, located in the city of Louisville, commemorates the life and legend of the self-proclaimed “greatest”, and the city is also home to the Kentucky Derby Museum, which is a great way to experience the excitement and history of the sport of horse racing. The state of Kentucky is also home to a world famous horse race every year, the aptly named Kentucky derby. The Belle of Louisville, the oldest sternwheeler riverboat in the nation that is still in use, is also worth a visit, as is Thomas Edison’s House and the Cathedral of the Assumption.
Other points of interest include the Louisville Science Center, home to exhibits on natural history, a gift shop, and an IMAX theater, the Glassworks, and the Kentucky Horse Park. Nature enthusiasts should drop by the Forest Discovery Center, which offers an indoor forest, a large mural, a sawmill, and a glass skywalk. Kentucky is world famous for its Bourbon whiskey, and one of the best distilleries in the state is Woodford Reserve Distillery. The capital city of Kentucky, Frankfort, is home to a wide variety of attractions itself, including the Old State Capitol, the Zeigler House, and a History Center. Literally one of the largest things that Kentucky has to offer is the Mammoth Cave, an extremely complex and beautiful system of caverns and passages. One of the nation’s oldest tourist attractions, Mammoth Cave shares a national park with the Green and Nolin River Valleys, which themselves host a wide variety of outdoor attractions.
