Northeast Florida is the place where you can find history, scenery, activities, and attractions all in one place. The many offerings of this region make it not only a great destination for tourism but also a wonderful place to look at real estate and homes for sale. Northeast Florida is comprised of DeLeon Springs, Jacksonville, and Saint Augustine. The coastline of North Florida is consistent in one respect; nearly all of it is characterized by white sandy beaches, warm water, sunny weather, and a wide variety of water sports. Some of these activities include water skiing, swimming, sunbathing, diving, and snorkeling. Other popular pastimes are boating, charter cruises, and fishing expeditions off of the Florida coast.
One of the most well known attractions near St. Augustine is Marineland, a marine life exhibit combined with a theme park that offers such activities as swimming with dolphins, diving, and snorkeling. Other attractions near St. Augustine include the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, which is the oldest Spanish fort in North America, the Museum of Weapons and Early American History, Nombre de Dios Mission, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum. DeLeon Springs is best known for an old Spanish Sugar Mill, and the Mythical Fountain of Youth, which was the target of many early expeditions in the area. Jacksonville wins its fame for being the city where you can find the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, the Jacksonville Museum of Science and History, the Jacksonville Zoo, and Pablo Historical Park.
