The plan, prepared by a technician specialised in conservative restoration, is aimed at recreating a typical Tuscan farmhouse. The choice of building materials and fittings is perfectly executed, along with very careful attention to aesthetics. Where possible, recuperated materials coming from the demolition of old houses have been used. The floors are in craftsmen-made Tuscan terracotta, the paint decoration and plastering are whitewashed in different colours, using only natural pigments, and the doors and window-frames are traditional, thus lending a unique historic atmosphere to this home.
Even environmental protection has played an important role: the house has been built using petrified wooden blocks, allowing for improved thermal acoustic isolation, and benefits from under-floor heating powered by solar panels which in summer months will be used to heat the swimming pool.
The garden is to be planted with fragrant shrubs typical to the area, and a swimming pool is planned, from which it will be possible to admire the splendid surrounding countryside.

Poggio Velluto is located between the towns Sassetta and Monteverdi. Just a few kilometres distance are the well-known and popular villages of Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, and the beaches of Marina di Castagneto, Bibbona, San Vincenzo and Baratti.

There is easy access to the most important Tuscan Cities of Art such as Volterra, Siena, San Giminiano, Pisa and Florence.
This property is in the area backing onto the famous vineyards of Bolgeri (Ornellaia and Sassicaia are the most renowned wines), in an area of rare and incalculable beauty.

The forests are full of mystery and charm: the whole area is beautiful and the scenery is at the same time quite bold and inpenetrable.
It is this feature which characterises the area, a wild beauty, almost primitive, and yet imbibed with such peace as might seem impossible, so much does it reign through every corner of the land
